FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DO YOU OFFER AN INITIAL MEET AND GREET?
Yes. Before any walks begin, we arrange an initial meeting with you and your dog. This gives us the chance to get to know each other, understand your dog’s personality, routine, and needs, and decide whether a solo walk or group walk is the best fit. We go through everything in detail so you feel completely comfortable before we start.
IS THE FIRST WALK REALLY FREE?
Yes. The first walk is always free. This allows us to see how your dog settles, how they interact with us and other dogs if applicable, and whether the setup works well for everyone. After the walk, we provide honest feedback and discuss next steps together.
HOW DO BOOKINGS AND CLIENT DETAILS WORK?
All bookings, client details, dog information, and schedules are managed through PetSitterPlus. This is a secure, trusted platform used by professional pet care providers. Clients can book walks, update their details, add notes about their dog, and manage everything in one place. It keeps information safe, organised, and transparent, giving peace of mind for both owners and us.
WHAT SHOULD I PREPARE FOR WINTER WALKS?
During winter and wetter months, dogs can sometimes return damp or muddy, even after being towel-dried outdoors. We recommend leaving a towel out at home so we can give your dog a proper dry before settling them back in. This helps keep your home clean and your dog comfortable after their walk.
HOW MANY DOGS ARE ON A GROUP WALK?
We never walk more than four dogs in a group. Keeping groups small allows us to maintain control, safety, calm energy, and individual attention. Your dog will never be overwhelmed or lost in a large pack.
DO YOU OFFER SOLO WALKS?
Yes. Solo walks are available and are ideal for older dogs, nervous dogs, dogs in training, or those who simply prefer one-to-one attention. These walks are fully tailored to your dog’s pace and comfort level.
ARE DOGS WALKED OFF-LEAD?
Off-lead walking is only done where appropriate, safe, and with owner consent. We use secure recreational fields and safe walking areas where dogs can enjoy freedom, play, and proper exercise. Off-lead time is supported with recall training and constant supervision. Safety always comes first.
DO YOU USE TREATS AND TRAINING ON WALKS?
Yes, with your permission. We reinforce good behaviour, recall, and calm interactions using treats and positive reinforcement, provided your dog is allowed them. Any dietary requirements or restrictions are always followed.
WHAT IF MY DOG NEEDS A COAT, HARNESS, OR SPECIAL EQUIPMENT?
No problem at all. We follow your instructions fully. If your dog needs a coat, specific harness, lead, or any special care, just let us know and we will take care of it.
HOW DO YOU ACCESS MY PROPERTY?
We are flexible and work with whatever suits you best. Some clients are home or working from home, while others provide keys or use secure key boxes. All access arrangements are handled safely, discreetly, and professionally.
ARE YOU INSURED AND DBS CHECKED?
Yes. We are fully insured, DBS checked, and Pet First Aid certified. Your dog’s safety and wellbeing are always our top priority.
DO YOU WALK LARGE OR STRONG DOGS?
Yes. We are experienced and confident handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Suitability is always assessed during the initial meeting to ensure the safest and happiest experience for everyone.
WHAT ARE YOUR WALKING AREAS?
We choose a variety of safe, stimulating routes including fields, green spaces, and quieter walking areas. Routes are selected based on your dog’s needs, energy levels, and confidence.
DO YOU SEND UPDATES?
Yes. We provide updates, and where possible do short videos on Instagram and Tiktok, so you know how your dog is getting on and can feel reassured while they are in our care.
DO YOU OFFER WEEKEND OR BANK HOLIDAY WALKS?
Yes, weekend and Bank Holiday services are available depending on availability. These are charged at an additional rate and quoted individually. Please contact us in advance to discuss your needs.
WHAT IF MY DOG IS NOT A GOOD FIT FOR GROUP WALKS?
That is absolutely fine. Not every dog enjoys group walks, and we will always be honest. If a solo walk or alternative arrangement is better for your dog, we will recommend that instead. The goal is always your dog’s happiness and wellbeing.
HOW DO I GET STARTED?
Simply get in touch. We will arrange your initial meeting, answer any questions you have, and take it from there. No pressure, no obligation, just the right setup for you and your dog.
